Jesus said, "My house will be a house of prayer for all the nations" (Mark 11:17) Prayer is the starting line and the finish line when it comes to reaching the villages of Alaska.
Every great move of God can be traced back to kneeling figures. Starting with pentacost, 120 believers began to pray in an upper room, and that move of
prayer poured out into the streets. fifty days praying and waiting for power from on high overflowed into 10 minutes of preaching and over 3,000 souls were saved (Acts 2:1-41). Today, we expect to spend 10 minutes praying, preach for 50 days, and we see very few souls saved. The missing component is a people devoted to prayer. the scriptures are clear that prayer leads us to boldly proclaim the gospel to the unreached (Acts 4:31; Eph. 6:19; col. 4:3; 1 Thess. 5:17; 2 Thess. 3:1; Philemon 6)
If we look back throughout history, starting with the early church, and passed down to the moravians, Willian Carey, adonirum judson, Hudson Taylor, C.T. Studd, Amy Carmichael, John G. Paton, and Praying Hyde. we will see evidence that prayer is directly linked to missionaries being sent into the harvest.
Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, and the laborers are few, therefore PRAY EARNESTLY to the Lord of the harvest to send the laborers into the harvest" (Luke 10:2).
The Lord has made it clear that He is calling us to start a prayer room (A House of Prayer for the villages of Alaska) that will gather DAILY for prayer. It will be organic, Low maintenance, and Led by the Spirit - not man. Prayer will start this movement and prayer will sustain this movement. WE believe that prayer and worship must be the daily and continual posture of effective missionaries.
John Piper said it best, “Missions exist because worship doesn’t.”
Therefore, we desire for all of life to be devoted to prayer and worship and the overflow will lead to missional living and gospel proclamation.
**please note** we will primarily be devoting our time in the prayer room to praying for the villages of Alaska
